TrailCon is where the trail and ultra running community comes together: athletes, brands, media, nonprofits, and race directors. The 2026 edition runs three days at Palisades Tahoe with panels, live podcasts, a vendor village, and the people shaping the future of the sport.
TrailCon is the brainchild of three partners who bring together Tahoe event production, outdoor retail, endurance media, and global event experience.
Brendan Madigan
TrailCon Creator, race director, and outdoor retailer
A Tahoe local and owner of Alpenglow Sports, Brendan brings long-running outdoor retail experience to TrailCon. He founded Broken Arrow Skyrace in 2016 and has built community events around the North Lake Tahoe trail and mountain community.
Doug Emslie
TrailCon Creator, investor, and events industry leader
Doug has spent more than 30 years in the events industry. He was CEO of Tarsus Group for 25 years, now chairs Cuil Bay Capital, and brings experience building event and media businesses together with a lifelong passion for running.
Dylan Bowman
TrailCon Creator, pro runner, and Freetrail CEO
Dylan is a professional trail runner, media entrepreneur, and co-founder of Freetrail. Through Freetrail and his race-directing work, he helps elevate the content, conversation, and community around trail running.
